A CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL BLACK BUSINESS MONTH
BLACK BUSINESS OWNERS, I HOPE YOU ENJOYED YOUR MONTH!!!
August marked the 14th annual National Black Business Month. The month serves an observation to highlight the need for government officials, community leaders, and investors to build and sustain inclusive spaces for Black-owned businesses. Although many Black-owned businesses continued to thrive even in the days of COVID, some Black-owned businesses were met with extreme financial difficulties and devastating closures.
At Sam's Word, we decided to use the month of August to feature Black woman-owned businesses on our social media pages. We hope you were watching! Our features included a variety of small businesses, which can be found in the mini-guide below.
We also wrote about the history of National Black Business Month, how the Paycheck Protection Plan (PPP) failed Black-Owned businesses, and funding opportunities available to Black-owned businesses.
August was a great month over here!!
